Every December, people all over the world bring out their stockings, which are usually decorated and personalized.

Christmas stockings are also a popular Christmas decoration as well, their symbol placed on Christmas ornaments, Christmas jewelry and other holiday adornments. If you are interested in tapping into your own creative, holiday spirit this year, then you might want to consider making some of your own Christmas stocking decorations, whether it be earrings or ornaments. • 1 piece of green felt
  • Decorative ribbon
  • Additional embellishments
  • 1 stocking pattern
  • Scissors
  • 1 black permanent marker
  • Glitter glue
  • Christmas tassel
  • 1 ornament hook

Step 2: Make Christmas Stocking Ornaments

  1. Use the black marker and trace a stocking onto the red felt using the stocking template.
  2. Cut out the stocking.
  3. Decorate the stocking. Use the glitter glue, decorative ribbon, tassel and any other embellishment you wish to use.
  4. Attach an ornament hook to the top right-hand corner of the stocking.
  5. Hang on the tree.

Step 3: Christmas Stocking Ornament Variations

  1. Purchase a small, wooden Christmas stocking ornament from your local craft store. Buy one that is not decorated, as this will give you a chance to be more creative. Paint the stocking with acrylic paints and decorate it with embellishments like glitter glue, beads, rhinestones or sequins. You may even want to personalize it by spelling out your name.
  2. Create a stocking ornament using red and white pipe cleaners. Use the red pipe cleaner to form the stocking and the white pipe cleaner to make an ornament loop to hang it from the tree.
